During the Mughal era in 17th & 18th century the Mughal rulers were very passionate about this hunting sport. It symbolised royality and a favourite sport as well. The hunting scene as depicted by the rulers were transformed into paintings and then upgraded to fine hand knotted carpets. The same were used to showcase their achievements and were proudly displayed in their collections. Since then this design has captured eye of many carpet lovers and adorn the décor of many homes.
